What do I need to look for when purchasing a toy?
If you are like most parents, you want your child to learn as he plays. You want the toys that he plays with to be educational, fun, safe, and cost-friendly. You want the best for your little one, but don’t want to be sucked into buying hundreds of unnecessary toys that are going to overcrowd your house and put you in the poor house.
It can be quite overwhelming to walk into a big named toy store. You look around and see hundreds of toys. To save yourself frustration, money and to know that you are providing your child with toys that are educational, safe and engaging, you may want to ask yourself the following questions before you purchase your child’s next toy.
* Is this toy safe?
* Is this toy fun/engaging?
* Is this an educational toy? Meaning, will my child be learning as he plays? Your little one’s wheels are constantly spinning and their brains are like sponges. Play is the best way for them to learn about the world. So make sure that toy you are buying is going to teach them something!
* Is this toy multi-purposeful? Meaning, you want to buy a toy that your little one learns a few things from.
* Is this toy reasonably priced? We all want what is best for our children, but some toys out there promise so much and cost sooo much, while others offer the same educational benefits, but cost less. Look around before you buy that toy if it seems overpriced!

Hi coleen.. I am a new mum to a 3 month girl.. I started to be interested in toys recently as my baby has developed to know things around her. For now I am looking through stores and online shop to look for the best toys for her. I’m interested in what you’ve written here… glad there’s someone like you..
